Frankfurt (Oder) is the independent university town on the west bank of the Oder in eastern Brandenburg – right on the border with Poland. In the north of Frankfurt (Oder), the beautiful Oderbruch begins with the Lebuser Land, known as the inland delta of the Oder in the district of Märkisch Oderland.

St. Mary’s Church constitutes an essential landmark of Frankfurt (Oder). The hall church with five aisles is one of the most beautiful pieces of Northern German brick Gothic architecture. From 2006 on St. Mary’s has been serving as a sociocultural center and a venue for exhibitions, concerts and the indoor Christmas Fair – a local attraction worth seeing.
The bridge is just under 252 metres long and it has a height of 34 metres. The border between Germany and Poland is right in the middle of the shipping lane, which means about two thirds of the length of the bridge are on Polish territory. It’s always worth taking a detour and visiting the town of Słubice on the other side of the Oder river.
The Oderturm tower block in Frankfurt (Oder) is 88.9 metres high, making it the highest building in the state of Brandenburg. It is visible from afar and has become a modern landmark of the town.
The Marienkirche is a church in Frankfurt (Oder) in Germany. It was the city’s main parish church and was built over more than 250 years during the Middle Ages in 1253.
